Basisbeschrijving van het onderzoek / Basic description of the research

Het idee is om een onderzoek op te starten naar het potentieel van biotechnologie en genetica in de kunsten en met bijzondere aandacht voor nieuwe media kunst, en het creëren van een persoonlijk en authentiek universum. Het traject evolueert door middel van reflectie, dialoog, archivering, confrontatie, toegepaste experimenten en dit in zowel de fysieke als de virtuele ruimte (e.g. internet, website, skype,…) waarbij zowel locale als nationale en internationale actoren uit de particuliere, non-profit en profit sector geraadpleegd worden. Hierdoor ontstaat er mogelijkerwijze een netwerk waarin het traject op een zinvolle manier kan gedijen.

The idea is to initate a research into the potential of biotechnology and genetics in the arts with particular attention to new media art whilst creating a personal and authentic universe. The trajectory evolves by means of reflection, dialogue, archiving, confrontation and applied experiments in both the physical and virtual space (e.g. Internet, Internet site, skype…). Local, national and international actors from the private, nonprofit and profit sector are consulted. From this particular modus operandi a network will arise in which the trajectory and its aforementioned research and experiments can reside.
